Privacy Policy

Introduction & Scope

Skycrest Community Church ("Skycrest," "we," "us," or "our") is a nonprofit church in Clearwater, Florida. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with our website, skycrestfamily.org.

This policy covers skycrestfamily.org only. It does not cover any other website, app, or service — including the third-party services described below, such as Planning Center's Church Center, YouTube, Google Maps, or Simplecast — even when we link to them or embed them on a page here. Those services are run by other companies under their own privacy policies, which we'd encourage you to read before using them.

Information We Collect

skycrestfamily.org itself does not collect any personal information from you through its pages — there's no database behind it and no first-party cookies. This includes the chat widget ("Skycrest Assistant"): it matches your question against a fixed set of answers entirely within your own browser, and nothing you type is sent to us or to any third party.

We do use Google Analytics to understand overall traffic to the site — things like which pages are visited and how many people are visiting, in aggregate. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology and may collect information such as your IP address and browsing activity on this site. We don't use this to identify you individually, and we don't combine it with anything from the forms described below. See "Cookies & Embedded Content" for more on how to control this.

Anywhere on the site that looks like it's collecting information — a "Plan a Visit" card, a giving page, an event sign-up — is actually sending you to a separate website to fill that out, not collecting it here. More on that below.

How We Use Information

Because skycrestfamily.org itself doesn't collect anything, this section is short: we don't use any information through this site, because none passes through it.

When you fill out a form linked from our site — to plan a visit, register a child for SkyKids, express interest in serving, give financially, register for an event, or join a group — that information goes directly to Planning Center, and it's Planning Center, not us, who receives and uses it, for the purpose stated on that particular form (following up with a visitor, processing a registration, handling a gift, and so on).

Third-Party Services

Every form linked from skycrestfamily.org is hosted and processed by Planning Center, a software provider many churches use, on their Church Center platform (skycrestfamily.churchcenter.com). This includes:

  • Plan a Visit / Connect Card
  • SkyKids registration
  • Serve Team Interest
  • Giving / donations
  • Event registrations
  • Groups directory

When you submit one of these forms, your information is received and stored by Planning Center under Planning Center's own privacy policy, not ours. We'd encourage you to review it at planningcenter.com/privacy (opens in a new tab).

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information — and since our site doesn't collect any in the first place, there's nothing here to sell.

Cookies & Embedded Content

A few pages on skycrestfamily.org embed content from outside providers directly on the page, rather than linking out to it:

  • Our homepage and Sunday Services page include a Google Maps embed so you can see our building and get directions. That map is served by Google, not us, and Google may set its own cookies when it loads.
  • Our live-stream page includes a YouTube video embed so you can watch our services online. That embed is served by YouTube directly and may set its own cookies.
  • Sermon audio is streamed from Simplecast, our podcast hosting provider. Playing a sermon loads that audio directly from Simplecast's own servers.
  • We use Google Analytics sitewide to measure traffic. Google sets its own cookies to do this — see Google's privacy policy, linked below, for how Google handles that data.

We don't control what cookies or tracking these providers use on their embeds — that's governed by their own privacy policies, not ours. Google's is at policies.google.com/privacy (opens in a new tab).

Children's Privacy

Our SkyKids registration is hosted entirely by Planning Center, not by skycrestfamily.org. When a parent or guardian registers a child for SkyKids, that registration — including the child's information — is submitted directly to Planning Center, not to us. Planning Center's own privacy policy governs how that information is handled from that point on.

We're not making a claim here about compliance with any particular children's privacy law; we're simply describing, factually, where that information goes and who holds it. If you have questions about how your child's information is handled, please reach out to us (see "Your Choices & Questions" below) or review Planning Center's privacy policy directly.

Data Retention

Because skycrestfamily.org doesn't collect any information itself, there's nothing of yours for us to retain, and no retention schedule to describe for data we never hold.

Data Security

We keep our website simple and static in part because it limits the ways information could be exposed — there's no visitor database on our servers to protect, because there isn't a database at all. Anything you submit to Planning Center, YouTube, Google, or Simplecast is subject to that provider's own security practices, not ours.

Direct Contact

Several pages on our site list email addresses for staff members. If you email us — a general address or a specific staff member — that message is received and stored the same way any email is: in an inbox, by our church directly. It isn't routed through a third-party form processor. This is the one place information actually comes to us first-hand rather than to an outside service, and we treat it with the same care as any other correspondence sent to our church.

Your Choices & Questions

If you have questions about this policy or about how information related to Skycrest is handled, please reach out to us at info@skycrestfamily.org. We're glad to talk it through.

We may update this policy from time to time — to reflect changes to our website, the services we link to, or simply to make it clearer. When we do, we'll update the effective date below. We'd encourage you to check back periodically.

This policy is effective as of August 7, 2026.
